Fearghal Duffy

Researcher

Fearghal Duffy is a PhD candidate in English at Maynooth University. His research takes an ecocritical approach to medieval Irish literature. Having achieved a double first class honours degree in English and Medieval Irish and Celtic Studies from Maynooth University, Fearghal was awarded a John and Pat Hume Scholarship for a PhD research proposal which maintains a dualistic approach in applying the modern literary theory ‘ecocriticism’ to readings of medieval Irish literature. His teaching experience ranges from delivering courses on medieval Irish poetry and saga literature, to tutoring Old Irish grammar and readings. He has also volunteered as a student mentor on the Inclusive Learning Initiative for students with intellectual disabilities.
