Jennifer Halton

Founder & Project Director

Jennifer Halton was recently awarded her IRC-funded PhD thesis, ‘Mapping the (cine)Metropolis: Redefining Festival in Early Modern Florence’, with the Music Department at Maynooth University. Her research centres on musico-visual media in renaissance Florence, with a particular focus on the phenomenon of early modern festivals. While her doctoral work has focused on early modern culture, her recent interests engage the impact of collaborative research in academia and the creative arts, most especially in the fields of music, architecture and film. She has presented papers at conferences internationally, and has published her work with the National Museum of Denmark, the Oxford University Press (Music & Letters Journal), and most recently in a print article with the Irish Independent. Metamorphosis is the result of Jennifer’s vision to promote interdisciplinary and intersectoral collaboration in Ireland.
